Tennis retail in the US is a mix of specialty tennis shops, club pro shops, big sporting goods chains and running stores that carry court shoes. Specialty shops and pro shops demo racquets for a small fee that is usually credited toward a purchase, and they string racquets on site, typically within a day or two, with string and labor priced separately. Sporting goods chains stock entry-level racquets, balls and apparel at lower prices but rarely offer stringing or fitting advice. Court construction and resurfacing companies serve clubs, schools and homeowners; a hard court is typically resurfaced every five to eight years.

Boardman is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Boardman follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Very disappointed with my experience. I tried to return a cooler I’d owned for less than two weeks that never even left my van. Paul refused the return, claiming I had “opened it more than once,” which is a ridiculous reason to deny a return. He was rude, dismissive, and acted like he could refuse it simply because he wanted to. Ironically, I went online afterward, completed the return through the online chat, and it was approved with no issues at all. Clearly, the problem wasn’t the return—it was the customer service. I won’t be shopping here again.

Stopped in Sunday morning to look at some Firearms. The guy at the counter was busy with a customer. I stood patiently for about 10 minutes while he worked with the customer. I understood he was busy and needed to close the sale he was working on. I received a text from my wife and opened my phone to read it and instantly he says, “ You can’t take pictures!” Never once was I greeted or told “I’ll be with you in a few minutes” but as soon as I touched my phone I was scolded! I went to Fins Feather & Furs and was instantly greeted and asked if I needed help!

I was so excited when I finally saw they had Pokemon cards which are rarer than diamonds these days, so I bought some. Order processed and paid for so I went on my way to pick them up. On the way they texted me and said they didn't have any and forced me to cancel my order. I also have another order that's been processing since March 18 and hasn't gone through so I'm guessing the same thing will happen. What an awful company. Never again.

Went in to vist this location for the 1st time after seeing billboards around the city. Amazing set up and lots to choose from. This store is like Basspro and Dicks. I looked around prices were good and I remembered that I needed a cast iron skillet. Found an employee in the shoe department and asked what section it was located and was told they didn't sell any... hmmm I saw camping equipment so I found this hard to believe. So I went where I felt it would be and behold they had them. So I went back to let the employee know they sold them and his reply was I only work in shoes so I didn't know???? Ok so say I'm not sure and pass the buck. Very simple solution. But he didn't like me telling him they sold them yikes!!. The cashier who checked me out was nice and happy to get my business. Not sure if I'll come back. Maybe the shoe department employee was having a bad day. Not a great excuse but hopefully he has a better day. Products can be bought at any retail store, it's the customer service that brings them back to become loyal customers...
